Mother should drink 10-15 glasses of water preferably boiled water.In addition to this mom should have 2-3 glasses of milk,butter milk. I think teat and coffee should be avoided at least for nursing period.But she can include juices like carrot juice,orange juice,pineapple,apple..lime juice etc.... Mom should eat salads of various types..including Kovakka ( Ivy Gourd ),cucumber,carrots,tomatoes.Green gram sprouts is a good item to include along with salads,as the combination is very nice.Rajma (Red kidney bean) receipes is a healthy and delicious food which can be consumed during this period.Also Dry fruits like Almonds,Cashew Nut,Dates,Dry Plum,Walnut etc should be included in your diet.Consumption of brahmi along with milk during nursing period benefits a lot.
